Awareness

Writer: K. LemlerK. Lemler

This word has been on my heart for awhile and I feel led to share it with you today, especially in relation to women and the enemy’s tactics.

The scripture that’s resonating in my spirit today is:

“The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8

It’s no secret that the enemy is after anyone who is doing God's work and pushing back against the darkness. He is relentless. Every minister I know who is truly making a difference in this world is battling a war that many on the outside of ministry can hardly even imagine. The wounds from these battles are deep and numerous. Add the challenges of being a woman in ministry, and you can double the scars and oppression.

For almost 33 years, I have ministered to women, and one common theme has emerged—oppression from the enemy through men. This has been a recurring issue, not only in the lives of many women I’ve worked with but also in my own life since I was young. And to clarify, I’m not speaking of all men. I am referring to specific situations with certain men who try to tear down the strength of vulnerable women.

Some men take pleasure in bullying. They try to isolate a woman from her support system and convince her she doesn’t know her own body or mind. They hide behind their credentials, playing the role of a false god. But here’s the truth: what they don’t realize is that the God in us can recognize the false god in them. When that happens, the warrior spirit of Christ rises in us!

The enemy may seek to devour, but as Holy Spirit-filled daughters of God, we rise up, fully armored and wielding the sword of the Spirit, cutting through the darkness.

Jesus showed us how to do this when He was tempted in the wilderness. He was vulnerable, and Satan tried to attack. But Jesus fought back with the sword of the Spirit, defeating the enemy. He emerged victorious, but we know that the enemy would return again. This shows us that the fight is ongoing—it's not a one-time battle. This is where AWARENESS becomes crucial. We must remain vigilant. The enemy is prowling.

We are called to RESIST with everything God has given us. And when we do, the Bible promises the enemy will flee.

Stay AWARE, stay STRONG, and know that you are never alone in this fight.
